I painted my Fila Disruptors

I purchased my white Fila Disruptors a few months ago and found myself not reaching for them as much I should have. I was reaching more for my Adidas Superstars and realized I was not wearing my Fila’s because I have several pairs of white sneakers.

I’d seen an admired the latest color-blocked shoes in trend for this season but could not bring myself to purchase another pair of sneakers I don’t need. So, I decided to paint the Fila’s and below you’ll see the results.

I used Angelus acrylic paint which can be purchased online or at your local craft store. After applying three coats, I used one coat of the Angelus finisher to seal the paint. I didn’t tape the areas but I recommend that you do because clean up was difficult. If paint seeps through the take, remove as much as un can with a small file and then use a cotton swab with pure acetone to remove the rest.

I’m very pleased with the results but I’ll be honest, would not do it again because it was very time-consuming. However, instead of going out and purchasing another pair of sneakers, I have a one-of-a-kind piece I know I’ll enjoy more. Let me know what you think!

    1. The black gets patchy but it’s because of the rubbing when putting them on. I kinda like the fading though…

  1. Hi I just want to ask if your fila shoes after a longtime of washing it, the skin of the shoes fades or like a scratch since it is not cotton or fabric what paint we can use for that?
