Getting off the beaten path in Guanella Pass, Colorado

We purchased a 2007 Toyota FJ cruiser in August 2021. It was purchased in New Hampshire and driven home to Colorado. Off-roading has been on our wish list for a while, and that year seemed to be the perfect time to start.

Our first trip out was to Guanella Pass. Guanella Pass in the Rocky Mountains is located in southwestern Clear Creek County in the front range west of Denver and south of Georgetown. The elevation is 11, 669 ft. There are beautiful hiking trails and scenic byways in this area.

Driving through rough terrain is like no other experience! The leaves were changing in the fall on this trip, making it even more scenic. Due to the snow, we had to cut this trip short. In Colorado, the weather changes within an hour, especially during the fall and winter. However, we will definitely return.

We are just beginning our off-roading adventures, so I hope you enjoy them. You can watch videos of this trip on my YouTube channel at: https://youtu.be/16S-g11RDhY.
