Wedding Trip to Puerto Rico

My husband and I attended my niece’s wedding in Puerto Rico in 2023. It was held under an elegant gazebo overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

When the Maid-of-Honor and Best Man walked down the aisle, followed by the bride and groom’s parents, it was difficult not to get emotional. The bride looked stunning. The couple had been dating for ten years, so we knew her fiancee was excited to marry the girl he had always wanted. A delicious dinner was served at the reception, followed by drinks and dancing. A striptease-like performance by the groom and a special dance for his bride were highlights of the night.

The night ended with an after-party! It took place in the hotel parking lot. Drinks from the wedding reception were loaded into coolers and transported to the honeymoon suite parking lot. The party continued until the bride and groom retired.

It had been a long time since I attended a formal wedding. I was married at the home of a relative in my first marriage. The second was outdoors at Red Rocks Park in Colorado. Our wedding party consisted of our children and guests from my husband’s immediate family. Afterward, we enjoyed tasty Mexican food and margaritas at a local Mexican restaurant. We held a small reception at another restaurant a month later. This reception was attended by my family and close friends who were unable to attend the wedding.

The wedding of my niece brought me closer to family members I hadn’t seen in years. Weddings are excellent opportunities to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. My family is one of the most special things in the world to me.
