Our final stop on the journey was Redwood Meadows RV Resort, and without question, it was our favorite RV site of the entire trip. The grounds were beautifully maintained, our campsite was clean and shaded beneath towering trees, and charming tiny homes were sprinkled throughout the property, giving the resort a cozy and inviting atmosphere. After settling in on our first evening, we prepared dinner at the campsite and spent the night unwinding with a glass of wine, a good meal, and a movie inside our cozy RV.
The next morning, we packed a sack lunch and headed to Redwood State Park to hike the Titans Grove and Mill Creek Trails. Words hardly do justice to the experience. Walking among these ancient giants felt like stepping onto the Forest Moon of Endor from Star Wars. The serenity of the redwoods was almost otherworldly. Sunlight filtered softly through the dense canopy, creating beams of golden light that danced across the forest floor. The air carried the rich scent of earth, moss, and pine, while birdsong echoed gently through the trees. Every step felt peaceful and sacred, as though the forest was inviting us into its quiet world.
After our hike, we drove to nearby Crescent City and visited Battery Point Lighthouse. Although we chose not to take the lighthouse tour, we spent time walking around the grounds and taking in the breathtaking scenery. The landscape surrounding the lighthouse was covered in vibrant purple flowers that seemed to stretch endlessly toward the horizon. Combined with the rhythmic sound of crashing waves and sweeping ocean views, the scene filled me with a sense of joy, calm, and gratitude. It was one of those rare places that makes you stop, breathe deeply, and simply appreciate the beauty of the moment. Our final stop for the day was SeaQuake Brewing, where we sampled a few local beers before heading back to camp for another relaxing evening of dinner and a movie.
On our last full day, we ventured into Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park to hike the Boy Scout Tree Trail, a five-mile trek leading to a hidden waterfall. The beauty of this park was simply breathtaking. The immense size of the redwoods creates an atmosphere that feels almost mythical, transporting visitors to a forgotten medieval world where ancient forests conceal secrets, legends, and hidden kingdoms. Standing beneath these towering giants inspires a sense of wonder and humility, reminding you just how small you are compared to the natural world.
After completing the hike, we rewarded ourselves with a visit to Port O’Pints Brewing Company. There, I discovered what may have been the best cider I’ve ever tasted. I normally don’t consider myself much of a cider drinker, but this experience completely changed my perspective. Their ciders were crisp, refreshing, and remarkably balanced, avoiding the overly sweet flavors often associated with cider. Instead, they showcased bright fruit notes and a clean finish that made each sip incredibly enjoyable. For dinner, we visited the Boathouse. To be completely honest, it was one of the few disappointments of the trip. While the restaurant is known for its seafood, we found it lacked the freshness we had expected, especially given its coastal location.
The following morning, we began the journey home. We were exhausted from days of hiking, exploring, and traveling, but we were also overwhelmed by the incredible beauty we had experienced along the way. From towering redwood forests and hidden waterfalls to rugged coastlines and peaceful campsites, this final stretch of our adventure left us with memories that will stay with us for years to come. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable trip.
