A Weekend in the Wilderness

While the girls were off enjoying a much-needed getaway, our husbands and children set out on an adventure of their own. They spent two and a half days backpacking from the Rich Creek Trailhead in Pike National Forest near Fairplay, Colorado.

The trip wasn’t without its challenges. Long miles, changing conditions, and the demands of carrying everything they needed tested both their endurance and determination. But as with so many outdoor adventures, the greatest rewards came through overcoming the obstacles together.

When they returned, they were exhausted, smelly, and incredibly hungry. Yet those things faded in comparison to what they brought home: hearts full of laughter, strengthened camaraderie, unforgettable memories, and a deeper appreciation for the breathtaking beauty of nature.

Sometimes the best souvenirs aren’t things at all. They’re the stories, the friendships, and the moments that stay with us long after we’ve left the trail.
