Our last full day in Ouray felt like the perfect way to close out an unforgettable RV adventure. We set out early, winding our way once again along the breathtaking Million Dollar Highway toward Durango. Even after driving it before, the towering peaks, dramatic cliffs, and endless mountain vistas stopped us in our tracks. Some roads are simply meant to be experienced more than once.
In Durango, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch before wandering through the charming artisan shops, browsing handcrafted treasures and taking in the laid-back mountain-town atmosphere. No visit would have been complete without a stop at Jimmy’s for their famous vanilla malts—a simple treat that somehow tasted even better after a morning on the road.
By afternoon, we found ourselves happily making the scenic drive back to Ouray. We settled in at Ouray Brewing Company with cold beers in hand and incredible mountain views stretching in every direction. It was the perfect place to slow down, reflect, and soak in every last moment of this beautiful little town. Dinner at Mi Mexico was the perfect ending to another wonderful day.
Before calling it a night, we eased our tired muscles in the warm mineral waters of the Ouray Hot Springs. After days filled with hiking, exploring, and countless mountain adventures, it felt like the perfect way to say goodbye.
As we packed up and prepared for the drive home, our hearts were full of gratitude. Gratitude for the towering mountains, rushing waterfalls, wildflowers, winding roads, and quiet moments that reminded us just how extraordinary the natural world can be. Trips like these have a way of slowing us down and helping us notice the beauty that’s always been there. We left Ouray with sore legs, countless memories, and a renewed appreciation for the outdoors, already dreaming about the next adventure.
