Infidelity: Beyond extra-marital affairs

Does infidelity go beyond having an extra-marital affair? As defined by Webster’s dictionary, infidelity is:
A: unfaithfulness to a moral obligation, disloyalty
B: martial unfaithfulness or an instance of it
Is spending an excessive amount of time doing other things that don’t involve your partner a breach of loyalty, such as being a workaholic, an extreme sports enthusiast, seeking sexual or romantic thrills online, or spending an excessive amount of time with friends. These activities will eventually start to affect your relationship.
You shouldn’t have to change who you are completely, but keeping a healthy balance is key to maintaining a great relationship with your mate. You can still do some of these things alone, but involve your partner every once in a while, or do something he/she likes to do.
Communicating any lack in the relationship is also very important. Seeking outside stimuli may be an indication that something may be broken in your relationship.
